New updates and improvements to Pilot

  1. Hello World! Meet Pilot

    Announcement
    Frill_Launch

2020 was a year like no other.

Fresh off our agency, Redstamp, winning a local ‘Business of the Year Award’ and celebrating a ninth year of consistent growth, the COVID-19 pandemic swept through the world, closing deals, canceling contracts, and shutting doors.

Slowly but surely, our project collaborators got laid off and email communication started to bounce.

What remained was a team of world-class talent. And we were determined to do whatever it took to keep as many people employed as possible.

You’re only as good as the information you have access to

During the pandemic, our conversation naturally turned philosophical.

How will this global catastrophe influence the working world? What impact will AI have on the future of information? Are business operations changed forever?

We discussed whether remote work would take precedence, how teams would need to rely more on asynchronous comms, and how AI integrations would quickly become “the new normal.”

Amongst this pondering came a simple yet powerful idea: that artificial intelligence is only as good as the information it has access to.

With this in mind, we set ourselves an ambitious goal.

Create a functional AI product that transforms vast amounts of data into accessible, actionable knowledge.

To secure the livelihood of our team and develop a new product with limited revenue, we leaned on loans, government grants, and old-fashioned bartering to create a product runway our team would be proud to work on.

The development: building a blueprint for success

First, we discussed our concept on hundreds of calls, speaking with innovative leaders in software and technology to discuss remote work and information management.

The same challenge repeatedly came up: creating knowledge in different places with limited centralized access.

We partnered with a technical agency also looking to provide work and continued employment for their team members.

Together, we built an MVP, which quickly attracted a CFO and an investor. This helped expand the team to include a CTO and other key members.

To keep ourselves accountable, we created a list of non-negotiables—no matter what we were up against:

    • Beautiful, functional products solve real problems: Our mission is to destroy the world’s barriers to knowledge by building an organization that creates the most innovative knowledge-enhancing tools for business.
    • Great work earns users: SaaS has come a long way since we started Redstamp ten years ago. Our product has to stack up alongside the competition.
    • The best technology enhances productivity automatically: Without complicating it or requiring heavy user effort. Simplicity is best.
    • Do things worthwhile (and do them long-term): Our agency is a B-Corp, and Pilot must meet this certification, too.

Against all odds, after three years filled with adventure and challenge, Pilot is here.

Welcome aboard: we’re ready to launch

Pilot helps organizations navigate their knowledge base, streamline workflows, and improve team collaboration by making it fast and easy to access information.

From onboarding new hires and facilitating employee training to initiating projects, providing oversight, and distributing policies, Pilot elevates the Google Workspace experience into the next stratosphere.

    Here’s how:

    • A knowledge base and Wiki for business: Transform Google Drive and create one centralized location for all business files, folders, and documentation.
    • Your company brain, powered by AI: Ask any question you want, and as long as the answer exists inside your knowledge, Pilot will answer using AI inside Slack, SMS, or a web-based interface.
    • Supports 1,800+ integrations: Including Miro, Figma, Notion, YouTube, Slack, GitHub, Airtable, Canva, Loom, and Vimeo.
    • Enhanced user access management: Ensure the security, integrity, and confidentiality of your knowledge. Add or remove users in one click.
    • Gamify knowledge with Badges: Create engagement with AI-generated quizzes based on a specific set of knowledge items.

Soon, Pilot will automatically transform and enhance your knowledge with real-time suggestions and improvements powered by AI.

We also plan to include translations and disability enhancements to make good on our promise to destroy the barriers to knowledge access.

This way, all team members can access information in whatever way is best suited to their needs.

Collaborate, innovate, and grow faster using Pilot as your in-house navigator.

The knowledge base of the future has landed. Are you ready to take flight?
